A: There is no one professional that can handle all types of injuries. That is why we feel that a multidisciplinary approach is the best approach. Certainly open wounds need to be handle by emergency physicians. Any broken bones seen by radiologist need to be dealt with by orthopedic surgeons.
However when it comes to post injury treatment and rehab socialist such as physiatrists and chiropractors are highly successful in treating patients and enhancing patient outcomes.
Physiatrists are medical doctors who have specialized training and evaluation in nonsurgical pain management and rehabilitation. They yes tissue injections, medication, exercise, bracing, and even acupuncture.
Chiropractors use manual treatment techniques such as joint mobilization and manipulation, physiotherapy, and therapeutic exercise to rehabilitate the patient. Their treatment helps restore the body to pre-injury status.
